How To Paint On Macbook Pro

You won't be able to find a paint that really matches. The coating on a MacBook is different than any paint. There's a really good chance, the paint will make the scratch stand out worse or the paint itself will look extremely out of place. Paint at any level right from the get-go. When it comes to drawing and painting, a lot of people are used to MS Paint mostly for the lack of accessible alternatives. Macs, on the other hand, have plenty. And one of them is Tayasui Sketches. Tayasui Sketches is a lot more than just Microsoft Paint for Mac.

Intel Mac :: New Apple Aluminum Keyboard 2012 Functions Do Not Match Icons On Keyboard

May 15, 2012

I just bought a new 2012 aluminum Wireless keyboard and the function keys do not work properly. I am currently running OS 1.5.8. I would expect most keys to match the icons on the keyboard. I do not want to upgrade to Snow Leopard or Lion. I have installed an aluminum keyboard upgrade 2.0 and this did not help. I just want the the keyboard functions to match the icons on the keyboard.. Volume up...volume down...

MacBook Pro :: Covering Under The Speaker Grills?

Jun 6, 2010

Look at this picture[URL]the upper case, there is a black covering on the speaker grills. Is that a covering under the speaker grills to prevent liquid/small objects from getting in? I spilled some thick liquid (evaporated milk) on it and scared that some got it but would be more at ease if there was that black covering. I have applecare so can i get them to check it out?

MacBook Air :: Something Covering Left Side Of Display?

MacBook Pro :: Plastic Film Covering Screens?

Apr 19, 2010

I recently received my CTO MacBook Pro this afternoon, and I was wondering if Apple has applied an adhesive clear plastic sheet over the new MacBook Pro's display intended to be peeled off. Mine looks as though there may be one to peel off, but I want to make sure before putting too much effort into trying to get it off... Anyone else peel one of these of their new MacBook Pro?

MacBook :: Vertical Lines Covering Half Of My Display?

Dec 27, 2010

My 2008 Penryn White Macbook siplays vertical lines and or vertical grey/black bars on 60% of the display. This happens from when it is powered on until and including when you arrive at desktop. The space the lines occupy does not increase or shrink, they have covered the area from the moment the problem arose.
it is not the common line issue that a Tiger update solved since this Macbook came with Leopard pre-installed. The lines are still there with the hard drive removed and they are still there when I booted a live Ubuntu CD, so I have ruled out software being the cause. Also I have ruled out inverter because I would not be getting any backlighting.
So....
To me that leaves:
-The LCD display panel itself (although there is no physical damage and it has never been dropped)
-The display data cable that connects LCD to the logic board
-GPU

MacBook :: Scratches On Machine - How To Remove

Dec 2, 2008

SO, in my attempt to install the BSE (BestSkinsEver) clear skin to help protect the macbook from scratches, i scratched my macbook from using a credit card (as suggested by BSE).... im really pissed off because i felt like i barely pressed on the credit card.... Anyways, i tried to see if i could just buy a new top component case (the top of the macbook) and just switch it out but according to my local apple store they only sell it as one unit (with lcd, etc...) which runs $800+.

MacBook :: How To Remove Scratches On Whitebook

Feb 20, 2009

I have, for some stupid reason, scratched the left palmrest with my nail so that scratchmarks have appeared. I honestly can't remember why I did it, but i think that I thought i was removing dirt from it that way.
What I basically wonder is if I might have scratched the first layer off, or if I really did remove some dirt. I didn't really apply much pressure so I think it's just dirt. So is there a way to clean the whole thing so that it looks white again instead of scratched?

MacBook Pro :: Scrapes / Scratches On Surface

Jun 30, 2009

I just noticed after a few weeks of using it it has these perfectly evened scratchings over the top casing even though i primarily use a wireless keyboard. im not sure if its from anything specific. i dont wear sweaters, have any bracelets, or wipe it with wool. i just had n iKlear cloth on it thats about it. i doubt im going to complain about it to apple but i was wondering since it looks like it was ingrained into the actual aluminum perhaps its in the design or fabrication of it? i just noticed it in bright natural light but otherwise cant even tell its there. this is the only other discrepancy with the umbp17 i have aside form the oily key wearing.

MacBook Air :: Skin For 11' - Protects From Scratches

Jan 12, 2011

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPod; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_0 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/532.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0.5 Mobile/8A293 Safari/6531.22.7) On my old MacBook Pro, I had a Speck hardshell, and it was great, but added a lot of bulk. So for my new MacBook Air 11, I want something that protects it from scratches without making it ugly and bulky.
The choices I'm considering:
1 - ZaggSkin - I like the fact That I can choose my own design
2 - ICarbons - Looks really sleek
3 - Wrapsol - Keeps the naked look with a matte finish, unlike the invisibleshield, which is shiny and reflective..
What do you recommend, if you have experience with any of these? Hows the quality?- I dont want it peeling up after a few months.. Or is there anything better?

MacBook :: How To Remove Scratches From Aluminium Unibody MB

Feb 25, 2009

Found a small scratch on the lid of my fairly new unibody macbook. My first one But hey, it's probably bound to happen one of these days. Anyone have any bright ideas to remove it?
This is what I've tried so far in a logical step in a progressively abrasive fashion:
1. Simple glass cleaner (thought it was dirt when I first saw it)
2. iKlear Apple Cleaner
3. Klasse Scratch and Swirl Remover (German car polish)
4. Meguiar's Nxt Gen Metal Polish

MacBook :: Palmrest Scratches On Unibody / Moisture Or Occasional Sweat?

How To Paint On Macbook Pro

May 24, 2008

A couple months back, I noticed that the right palmrest of my unibody MacBook had a collection of fine scratches, like someone brushed it with steel wool (it can only be see in certain lighting conditions though). At first I thought that one of my siblings had caused the scratches by wearing a metal bracelet while borrowing my MacBook. However, more recently I've noticed that the left palmrest also now has the same type of scratches.
Since I discovered the first scratches I've been careful to make sure that anyone who uses my MacBook takes off any jewelry that might scratch it so I'm sure that that's not the cause. Otherwise I can only think that maybe the moisture or occasional sweat from my hands has reacted in some way with the aluminum. Seems weird but I don't know what else to think. I didn't think aluminum would wear easily either but could that be it? Any ideas would be appreciated.

Applications :: Looking For Paint Equivalent For Mac?

Oct 22, 2010

iPhoto is great, but I need something like windows Paint, that can edit photos, i.e. color in/out a license plate on a car pic and what not. I'm looking for a simple and hopefully free equivalent, not a professional program at this time. I'm new to mac, so I don't know what's out there and didn't see anything listed in the help menu for mac apps here.

PowerPC :: Possible To Take G5 Chassis Apart To Paint Casing?

Jul 9, 2009

I'm wanting to buy a used lower spec mac tower, and fix it up as a little project. Aside from the typical upgrades one might do, I would love to have the case painted. I was wondering, it possible to take the chassis apart into pieces? (after gutting it of course) What holds these things together? Rivets? Something I'd need a specialty tool for? Or perhaps it cant be done?

Applications :: Finding MS Paint Equivalent

Jan 30, 2010

Its been a while since I have switched over to mac now but basically the only thing I miss about windows is MS Paint, I liked to have the free, simple photo editing tool, I basically just used it for cropping screenshots and things of that nature, anyway, I'm wondering if there is any free equivalent of MS Paint for mac.
